Echinopsis Hybrid "lavender-pink" [OIL.2021.60.25]

With an impressive diameter of 11 cm and a remarkable length of 18 cm, this is a large, trumpet-shaped bloom that almost completely conceals the cactus body beneath it. Its form is perfectly symmetrical and radiates outward.

The petals glow in a precise, pure lavender-pink hue. This shade is most intense across the middle and outer sections of the petals. Toward the center, the petals taper to fine points and lighten gently, allowing the vibrant pink veining to stand out beautifully. The outer petals are particularly striking; they taper to sharp points in silhouette and feature darker, magenta-colored tips.

The interior of the flower presents a complex and fascinating interplay of colors and textures. At the center lies a dense cluster of fine, golden-yellow stamens and anthers. These surround the light-green pistil—topped with a star-shaped stigma—which sits enthroned in the middle like a jewel. A white, fringed ring forms the transition between the yellow center and the pink petals.
