The plant has a diameter of 8 cm and stands 8.5 cm tall (measured from the rim of the pot).
It blooms reliably every year.
The flower glows in a very intense, almost neon-like shade ranging from lemon yellow to lime green. It is a fresh, cool yellow tone that transitions slightly into green towards the center. The outer petals show fine, darker discolorations (almost brownish or reddish) at their tips.
The petals are lance-shaped, tapering to a point at the outer ends, and have slightly serrated edges. They are arranged in several dense, beautifully symmetrical, radiating rows—almost like a small sun or a star.
Inside the flower, one can see a fascinating, deep throat with a greenish shimmer.
A dense ring of delicate yellow stamens surrounds the center. The anthers sit on fine filaments and bear abundant pale yellow pollen. Right in the middle, the multi-part, radiating stigma (part of the pistil) protrudes, harmonizing perfectly in color with the stamens.
The flower grows up to 15 cm long and reaches a diameter of up to 9 cm.
The spines on this cactus are approximately 1.5 cm long.
The cactus currently has 3 flower buds!
