Ferocactus glaucescens occurs in the Mexican states of Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Queretaro and San Luis Potosi.
The blue-green cactus reaches a diameter of up to 50 cm, the yellow flowers are up to 4.5 cm in length and have a diameter of 2.5 to 3.5 cm.
