This cactus occurs in the Mexican states of San Luis Potosí, Guanajuato and Querétaro.
Previously, it was classified in the genus "Dolichothele".
On the warts sit up to 11 white spines and 2 brown middle spines.
The flowers are relatively small, white with a dirty purple median stripe.
By budding, attractive upholstery forms over time.
