This cactus, now known as Parodia incompta, can still be found in many collections under its old name.
It is native to Argentina, specifically to the provinces of Córdoba and San Luis, where it grows in dry, rocky areas, often at higher elevations.
The flowers are yellow with light reddish central stripes in the marginal petals and reach a diameter of 5 cm. The bright red stigma is striking.
