This cactus species, also considered a variety of Rebutia steinmannii, was found near Yavi, in the Jujuy department of Argentina, at an altitude of 3500 meters
The approx. 4 cm large flowers are bright red with an orange throat.
Several flowers usually appear at the same time.
Plants multiheaded, main stem approx. 2 cm diameter, approx. 4.5 cm high
